Hi! I'm Karyn.

Scribble

When I was in my high school Writer's Craft class, our teacher told us our stories had to have a purpose. This advice has followed me in everything I do, from my writing to my advocacy. It's because of this I believe that the most important story we'll ever share is our own...

While I now call Toronto home, I grew up in the small beach town of Port Elgin, Ontario. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Windsor before earning post-graduate certificates in Creative Writing and Creative Book Publishing from Humber College. I spent three years working in the publishing industry before making a switch to content writing and mental health knowledge management.

As someone with my own personal experiences with depression, generalized and social anxiety, and ADHD, I've seen firsthand the impact mental health awareness can have on encouraging others to get help and changing corporate attitudes towards employee wellness. I continue to work to inspire others to have conversations about mental health through creative and innovative mediums.

I previously volunteered as a Jack Talks Speaker with Jack.org before joining their Alumni Network, and I continue to work on my own personal projects, including writing the second draft of my first novel and launching my card game
I Disagree! in 2023.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my website. I hope we can continue to work towards a future where we share more stories and have conversations that create positive change. Don't be afraid to reach out to me via my contact form below, or you can connect with me on any of my social media links.

Love and hope,

Karyn
